And they are:

Maine Almost Got an Arena Football Team
I found an article from the Portland Press Herald that was written by Mike Lowe and was released on September 1, 2006. It talks about how the Portland Pirates were discussing whether or not they wanted to bring an arena football team to Portland. It never happened, but this just proves that some Mainers do want a pro football team.
Maine? Really?
I know what you're thinking, "does Maine really need a pro football team?". I think so. Another important question is "why arena football?". Arena football is a growing sport that is gaining popularity all across the United States. It's high scoring, fast-paced action is always exciting to watch. Leagues like the AFL (Arena Football League) and IFL (Indoor Football League) are the largest in the business. But the most important question might be "why Maine?". Well if you haven't already noticed, it's my home state. Second; there are not many pro sports teams up here (aside from the Portland Pirates). Third; Maine is a big state (compared to the other states in New England) with lots of football fans hungry for hometown action. Fourth; Maine needs money. The revenue from ticket sales could be used to fund larger projects. Finally, a pro football team here in Maine would bring what everyone is talking about right now; JOB OPPORTUNITIES.
